I am relatively new to the site and want to find others in my area that have similar interests in chickens. I buy chicks occasionally, build my own coops, waterers, feeders, and have started incubating my own peeps. I have 11 beautiful lavender orpingtons aged 1 to 2 years and am working toward a breeding and hatching program to raise more lavender orpingtons. At this time I also have 15 buff orpington barnyard mixes that provide eating eggs and will eventually be replaced with pure breed buffs. Once I have pure breed buffs I will cross with Lav to get some blacks and browns. I also have two Easter Egger Roos and four EE hens. The two roos can be sold as I am only looking for the blue eggs and maintaining three separate coops gets expensive. If you are in Perry County(Duncannon) or close let me know and maybe we can help each other out at some time. I am currently test hatching my lavender orpington eggs and once I know they are fertile I will offer them for sale locally. Attached is a pic of a few from last years hatch at 12 weeks.
