Hi All,

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot.

Was out for a run with the family this morning at a local weir and saw two of the regular local birds being friendly.

I grabbed a couple of pictures and thought some people here may like to see a pair of black swans. They are pretty common place here, but am told they are now only native to some parts of Australia.

The black swan is such an icon here, it adorns our state flag.

Here, white swans are far more rare to see.

Just wanted to share our local big bird.

So cool!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

I had been talking with another member about these and other native Australian birds. Most go into the $1000's

to buy in the US.

Mind blowing to see that for me. We were talking about how a type of cockatoo here sells for $1700 over there and that day I had a flock of them fly over me, about 70 grands worth hahaha

Hi Ben, the Black Swans are gorgeous. It is a shame that they only have the polluted swan river to swim in though.
We live on a few acres in the Perth hills and we have a flock of seven red tailed black cockatoos that we see quite often. There is also a massive flock of Barnaby Cockatoos (white tailed black) that fly over every now and again. It is a brilliant sight.
