We put up some game cameras last night, because I had a "treat block" that was suit block size disappear overnight a few weeks back. So we put cameras up when I hung a new one - this one is smaller and still intact this morning. But.....we caught a picture of a dog overnight. I suspect it may be a neighborhood dog, but can't tell for sure from the picture. There is no indication that it tried to get into either of my runs/coops. And honestly we can't say for sure it may come by often and we just haven't seen it since we didn't have the camera up. I was wondering if anyone has used those solar powered sprinklers etc as a deterent? I'm not looking to harm the dog but would prefer it stay farther away from the coop/run.

The presence of a dog, especially a male marking everywhere, is a pest deterrent. If the dog was interested in harming your chickens I think he would have tried to get into the run. I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point. If you are going to worry anyway, put electric wire or electric netting around the runs and coops to keep dogs out.
