Has anyone had a problem with mice in the hen house.
The population has gotten out of hand totally.
They have killed a hatchling and ate part of it. I saved
the other one and is in the house in a cage with heat.
Today it is 3 days old and seems to be doing fine and
spoiled. It is starting to eat tiny bits of watered down
mash, powdered, with warm water. It seems to be doing
fine so far.
When you go into the chick'n house at night the mice
are all over. I have tried electronic deterrents that are
plugged into the outlet with no results.Essential oils etc.
Nothing seems to work. The chicken house is Not moveable.

If you are adverse to using poison, and I get that, traps, traps, and more traps.

Put on some rain boots and grab yourself a shovel. Then go grab a water hose and flood the little son of witches outta them holes and when they start scattering about, smack em' with that shovel and stomp on em' with them rain boots of yours!!

Traps will work for small numbers, and the traps need to be away from the birds. Seal up any openings, and use bait, in secure bait stations. Most rodents will return to their burrows and die there, so you shouldn't find many bodies.
When you are seeing a lot of mice, you have ZILLIONS!

I've finally cut down the population considerably with closed plastic bait traps
from TSC. We have found many ,many,dead laying around in the chicken house.
It looks like we've cut the population in half or more. Thanks all for the suggestions.

I agree. Only rats and mice can get to the bait I use. I had a rat infested coop with ZILLIONS of rats. You can check the bait in the bait box through the little window on top.
