I'm trying to start raising quail. I'm looking for Pharaoh Quails b/c I hear there a large breed of Quail and they lay good and it doesn't take long for them to mature. Looking for any help. Thanks.

Actually, pharaoh is the term used for the 'normal' brown coturnix quail, what you need are the jumbo brown coturnix. I don't know anyone in GA that has them but quailladyoffortmyers is in FL and has HUGE jumbo brown and jumbo white coturnix. Shipping is not hard on quail eggs at all, you just need to make sure you set them in the incubator immediately this time of year since they probably start developing in-transit.

ETA: Any color coturnix can start laying as early as 4 weeks old, but most take 6-8 weeks. I've had some wait til 10 weeks but they were big jumbos. quaillady's jumbos weigh on average of 13-14 ounces live weight. With coturnix you should retain 75% of live weight after processing.

I've got about 50 half grown Jumbo coturnix for sale cheap, not sure where you live in Ga. but I live about 30 miles from the Ga. line in Tn. just up HWY 411
