Pheasant Newbie@!

well still new to this board. but I just bought a I dont know how old pheasent yesterday, the shop owner said its a male and its a Golden Pheasant. but it doesnt look colorfull like the picutres ;_;

Questions.

well its not tame, but Im actually letting him sleep in my room running around free. actually hes staying in the corner of my room ontop of some towles that I dont use. but how can I make him tame? or train him to be tame? and also. he has these little white bugs in his feathers. im heated about that cause the shop owner didnt tell me the pheasant had bugs. there white tiny and crawl(not jump). I know there not flees, I though they were ticks but... hmm well actually kinda do but when they were on me I didnt get bit. but how can I get rid of these bugs? i feel so bad letting them run around him without knowing what to do. and last but not least whats the behavior of a pheasent so I know what it likes and stuff. alright THANK YOU lol.

looks like a red golden, bout 9 months old,, he'll get more colorfull this summer, and by 2 years old he'll be REAL pretty. to tame,,, well,, just handle him alot, but im not sure he'l get "tame" like a house bird.
those white thingy's he has on him and your sleeping with,, would be lice, or mites,,, ya need to give him a dusting of either food grade DE or 5% sevin dust. they like being outside ALOT,, their not meant for indoors, they like brush piles, rock piles, lots of perch's,, and a good hiding place. and come mating season, he may get an attitude,, their not as bad as ringnecks,, but they will get frustrated with no mates.

any time
