Are there any sales regulations regarding Ringneck Pheasants? I was given three pheasant eggs as part of a chicken egg order and now I am not sure what I am going to do with them? Was thinking about posting them on Craigslist but do not want to break any state game laws. How much would I sell them for?

Thanks,

Bosque

Yes, there are. It will depend on what state you are in, and is associated with your game department. FOr instance in Washington, you can't sell them or supposedly turn them loose either without aquiring a game bird license. Not cheap and easy to do either and its an annual thing. Ornamental pheasants are fine, but any native species such as Valley Quail, Chukars, and Ringnecks, you need this license.

Every state is different. But most have laws regarding pheasants.

Interesting foot note though. Pheasants and chuckars are not native to North America. THey were introduced.

Just an FYI, in Arizona there is a $5.00 yearly permit that is required for pheasant ownership.
