Pheasants eating eggs

I have read that many pheasants (and chickens) won't stop once they have started. But I have also heard that adding apple cider vinegar (i tbs/gal) of water supposedly helps. Might be because of the pH imbalance, need for additional protein, etc.

Others say to feed more peanuts, oats, things higher in protein. My silver pheasants ate their eggs and never stopped while she was laying, I only ever recovered 2 throughout he entire laying season :(

You can also cut the top beak back until you get a trickle of blood. You will have to repeat many times until they stop as their beak grows quickly. The top beak only do not cut the bottom beak.Along with the apple cider vinegar.

How exactly are you helping Iowa gamebird solve his problem wildlife artist? Are you saying that he should use blinders in this situation? Mean or not. trolling or not. Try and help Bill with your opinion if you can.

tony And you said blinders are mean.
If you are referring to cutting their beak,it is no different then cutting your finger nail.It grows right back and it doesn't hurt the birds at all,but it does help in egg eating at times.

I have heard both 1 tbs to a gal of water, and 4 tsp to a gal. I add slightly more than a tbs of ACV to the water and they take right to it. I also have 5 birds sharing the waterer.
