Hello, it’s time to move on a rooster from my growing flock! I’d keep them all if I could. Thoughts on which two to keep? I have pet quality pekins - gold laced, buffs, white and black and have recently added a mottle hen.

Ahh! They’re so cute! The look pretty good quality compared to the hatchery stock ones I’ve gotten.
I’d pick the cuckoo (barred) boy. It’s a tough decision between the red boy or the white boy, but I think I’d go with the red boy.

So hard, I like the reddish brown one. However, I would weigh them, I am assuming that they were all hatched together and have been offered the same feed - so a heavier bird is thriftier.

Examine their feet - straight toes is important - I think it helps on wear and tear on the hens feathers.

Examine beaks - looking for perfect alignment

Feel the breast bones, and legs- feathers hide a lot of sins.

Temperament is important.

Great advice, thank you!
