Picked up 6 new chicks today age 6 weeks & 8 week olds... got home saw a dropping with some blood...

Hello,
I am a newbie... I have kept 4 standard size chickens for the past month with zero issues. Today I picked up 6 Bantams to add to my flock. They all seem to be acting normally however, upon returning home with them I saw a dropping with some blood in it. Should I be concerned? Is it possible this could be from the stress of traveling with them as I drove 5 hours to get them.

Or should I just assume Cocci and treat all 6 prior to introducing them to my other 4 chickens. And if so how long do I treat and how long before I can put them in comfortably with my existing flock?

Any insight would be appreciated... thanks in advance!

Update: I have them quarantined for now and will continue for 2 weeks before introducing them to the others. But since that one time I have not seen anymore blood in any of the droppings... so on the fence as to "if" I should be treating them or let them go for now????

Yesterday I noticed one of them sitting with her eyes closed a bit on and off and at that time she "appeared" a little "fluffed up" so I was worried but I sat and watched her and then she was moving about seemingly fine eating & drinking ok... scratching and seemed normal so I am not sure if chickens can "doze off & rest" during the day? Is this normal?

Hoping to get some experienced opinions... I have read allot and researched books as well as this site but as I am on the fence still on "if" I should be doing anything or not as for the most part they seem normal and happy... no more visible blood and now only slightly concern about the one the a saw "resting"???

P.S. I did get some tablets to place in for electrolytes from Manna Pro that is to be good for giving in "stressful" situations... so as I am thinking moving to a new home falls in that category I am doing this for them.

My chickens nap from time to time, and as long as they're eating and drinking normally you're fine. The electrolytes are a great way to get young chicks to eat after a stressful situation. My chicks all get electrolytes regardless of how far we've been to bring them home. We get ours in a powder and we mix it with their water.

Thanks... this makes me feel better. I have read and research everything chicken until my eyes are ready to drop out & yet it's just not the same as hearing it from a human! LOL!
