picked up my EE male by the legs?!

My husband picked my 6 wk old EE boy by the legs today, I told him not to do that unless he was getting aggressive or starting to attack, which he wasn't. Was I right?

I don't know about at 6 weeks old, but that was how I was taught to catch chickens, especially flighty chickens that you cannot get very close to. From what I know (which isn't a lot lol) it is better to catch them by their legs than to grab at their wings, tail or feathers. I always try first to body grab them, but sometimes they just do not want to cooperate lol. I think the most important thing is the amount of pressure that is applied. It does not take a lot of pressure to hold a chicken by it's legs. Hopefully someone else will chime in because I hate to think I've been doing it wrong all this time
