Picked up my very first Quail!

They are so cute! I knew they would be little but I didn’t know they would be THAT little! I have 15 Coturnix Quail, they just hatched yesterday. One of them looks to have wry neck it is holding its head kind of back and sideways, almost resting on its back. There are two of them that are a lighter color than the others. They are yellow where the others are brown but still have the chipmunk stripe. I am assuming they will mature to a different color?

And yes, the lighter colored ones are Goldens.

The one with the goofy neck, does it do that all the time? I've had some that slept in the oddest positions, so if it only does it when it's sleeping I wouldn't worry.

If you think those are small, you should see baby buttons!

This is a picture of some day-old coturnix with some day-old button quail...see the difference? You see how small the coturnix are and the baby button isn't even half as big

I love my little ones that hathced they are my favorite.. I bought some buttons as well and they are getting so big and cute.. I will take pics of all them soon and post them

They're cute as can be! We got our first Coturnix about a year ago. It was exciting! Hope you enjoy yours.

Yes, the one with the goofy neck does do it almost all the time. Somtimes when he is chirping he straightens up some but even when he is walking he holds it odd. He is eating and drinking, I am just not sure what to think about it.
