Our two 11 hour old Silkies!

I went out to candle the 6 eggs that the white Silkie had been sitting, and lo and behold one of them was pipping. This morning, I went to check on the eggs and once I got hen out of the way (she DID NOT want to move) I found a black AND a partridge chick staring at me. Awesome sauce! The eggs were marked so I could collect new ones while leaving the old ones, but I neglected to write down the date that we started leaving them. In the future I will make sure to record all dates. Of the 6, two were simply liquid inside, I'm assuming infertile, and were chucked. The remaining two showed solid blobs and a large airspace, so I may have two new fuzzballs in a day or three.
A white feather legged four toed frizzle (I'm assuming a Cochin) is hurt, we call it Gimpy. Gimpy had to be segregated as the other chicks pulled out most of the down and feathers. I don't know what happened to the leg, but it is seeming to be getting better. Gimpy is more mobile, and new fuzz and feathers have started to come back in. Good thing, too, he looked rather dumb bald.
