So i bought 3 pullets and 2 laying hens a couple weeks ago. The laying hens and 1 pullet are doing just fine. They have access to layer crumble, oyster shell, black sunflower seeds, and scratch grain. Along with whatever odds and ends i toss in for them. I have a hanging water and food container with grower crumbles in it. 2 pullets are acting weird and picking through not wanting the food i have so one just passed away and i brought the other inside and have avaliable dry and wet catfood, fresh tomato, corn, and shredded carrot, along with fresh scrambled eggs and she is not interested in any of it 🤦‍♀️ what do i do? Shes acting normal.. I had no idea she was so skinny until i picked her up

How old are they? What do their poops look like? Are the pullets old enough to lay eggs? All they need to eat at this time is a balanced chicken feed, and the scratch grains, corn carrot, etc is not necessary. Eggs are okay as a treat. If the pullets are not laying, it would be best for them to eat chick starter grower, or feed all Flock Raiser. Was the pullet who died acting puffed up or lethargic, as well as not eating? Coccidiosis might be a probalem, and that is treated with Corid or amprollium in the water. The best way to find a cause of death is to get a necropsy through your state poultry lab which can be found in this link:

I would check the crops to make sure they are emptying overnight. Look for any lice or mites. If you decide to treat for coccidiosis, dosage is 2 tsp of Corid liquid per gallon of water for 5-7 days.
