I bought 5 pullets that were raised strictly on chicken feed. In our chicken run they love eating grass and whatever else they find in the dirt, but they don't like my compost! The only thing they've been interested in is peanuts. How do I make compost more enticing to them? Should I be cutting it into smaller pieces? Should I put it into a feeder instead of just on the ground?

When I start to introduce cantaloupe rinds, tomato's, or water melons they act like I just threw a snake in the pen. Eventually, they will try it and like it. Maybe throw some of their feed on it.
