So, my ducks are now 8 weeks. We feed blue seal and this past weekend I swapped them from the starter crumble over to the grow and show pellets! and I feel so bad because they are following me around screaming at me!!! like as to say WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO OUR FOOD??? I even was in contact with blue seal co. and they are the ones who recommended that feed to me.
I guess what I am worried about is will they starve their selves to death? I thought the pellets would be a lot less of a waste on grain but, if it will put their lives in jeopardy then I will def. put them back on the crumble.
do you think I am worrying to much? will they finally give in and eat the pellets or do you think they are stubborn enough to actually starve? HELP! Thanks, April

My ducks were the same way, on a different brand tho. Try mixing both feeds 50/50 that's what got mine to convert now they eat anything I give them.

I don't think it's picky eaters so much as its that animals (including humans) do not like change. It's always a good idea to slowly introduce a new diet rather than dump all of it on them. My cousin traveled to France, and at one point she had a pizza and burger day becuase she was tired of 'strange' food. It's just natural. And it's much harder for those critters who cannot make the decision intelectually to try something new.

Thanks for the input! I did mix the old feed with the new and all they did was pick right through it and eat the crumble and not the pellets!! so, that's what my next question is for anyone who has a suggestion. Do you all recommend the pellets, mash or crumble? I hear so many pros and cons that my head is spinning

!!!!!! I feel like these 4 ducks are the pickiest little creatures ever. I feel awful because I think they are not eating enough to keep them happy! They see me and scream really loud and run down to me..I give them treats and little fish in their pond and grass and greens...maybe they are so spoiled that they just want that instead of grain? what are some other types of feed that I could try? I see that some people do cracked corn, wheat, I am doing Grow and Show pellets and they seem to not be making these guys happy with me at all! I would love some suggestions. Thanks so much:)
