pics!!!my girl cant stand up, just lays on her side...in pain

shes almost 2 yrs old. i just noticed today that she was laying on her side as it is too painful for her to stand. befoe today i had not noticed anything, although it takes more than one day for sores like those to form. i picked her up, brought her outside the coop, placed the food inside the coop and she wobbled into the coop then layed on her side and began eating. she obviously wants to live...poor baby...but it hurts her too bad to stand up and walk. the sores had a scab on them i pulled off and squeezed and puss came out of one and she squawked in pain. she cannot or does not want to stand up at all unless i move her away from the food. its big sores like boils. i just want to make sure its not something contagious that my other girls can catch.

Is there any chance that you can take her to a vet? It seems she's really in pain and at this stage I don't think only cleaning up the sores/wound and letting her be is a smart idea

Also the vet will probably tell you what it is and start the treatment right away instead of you having to take more pictures and wait for any of our guesses.

I hope she gets better soon!

Does she have scaly mites? She does appear to have lots of inflammation in those toes. Is she on an antibiotic? Is taking her to the vet an option? Any other chickens have bad legs or feet? Check them all carefully. Also check her for lice and mites at night time with a flash light so you can see them better. In the mean time, cover her legs and feet with bag balm/ triple antibiotic ointment/ vaseline, anything really thick like those that will smother out the mites. You can also give it some ivermectin wormer, as that kills mites and worms. If you're unsure of what mites and lice look like, you can do a search on here and see. I wouldn't delay treatment though.

And please bring her in, or at least get her on a soft towel, or something of that nature so it doesn't hurt as much to stand. Make sure she has access to food and water, meaning that she can reach it without having to move about. Keeping her in a small cage or carrier would help.

Saline solution will kill germs, and if you have iodine...my farrier says "nothing lives in iodine".
I would think a warm compress to open up the blisters, and then saline or iodine. The pus means it's infected, so trying to kill the infection should be your first move. Even soaking her feet in an iodine solution might draw out some infection, and help dry it up.

all other hens r fine...no signs of mites or anything. maybe it wa ant bites that got infected...i have no idea. a vet was not a option sadly. i put her out of her misery last night:( it happens i guess.
