Hi guys
I have noticed some differences in the sexes of my chicks and thought I would share them with you all. These chicks a 4wks old and on the pullets you can see that their tails and wings are much bigger and more developed than the roos. This is easier to tell at 2 or 3 weeks.
The Speckled Sussex and Black Sexlinks, I raised myself; the others were bought and sexed by a hatchery.
Please note that this does not work with all breeds, My Barred Rocks for instance do not have these differences, but they are fairly easy to tell by color.
I should also have these breeds for sale next year if anyone is interested

That hen is crazy! What will she look like? Somewhere between a buff columbian and a black bleeding buff? Neat.

I don't know what she will look like, this is the oldest bunch I have of them. I hope she will stay about the same, but I expect she will get more buff.

great post, very helpful!! I'd love to see more post like that with other breeds. Hopefully there will be pics like that on the breed data base
