Pics of how to make an Ice-Fishing pole. LOOK!LOOK!I made one for $10!

I do a lot of fishing. Right now I have about 40 poles stuffed in our atic. I tie flies for fly-fishing and make spinners for bass and trout. Well I bought all the supplies for making a ice fishing pole for my dad. I am heading out to the garage right now to get started on it. I get all my fishing tackle and bait from www.jannsnetcraft.com. I go right to the store and they are so helpful.

I'll take a lot of pics and I'll give the prices of everything. So far I spent about $8 I think on the parts and $4 on epoxy since my Gorilla Glue froze. lol

Well I'll be back in a few minutes with pictures of all of my supplies.

I think that is a really good price compared to the pre-made ones around here that cost around $20-30

Not interested this year. We're still in TX. Maybe next year when we're in Wisconsin. Poles like that sell for $20-$30 in the stores?

I talked to my dad over Christmas and he said he and my brother went fishing instead of hunting on the opening day of gun deer season. He said they were the only ones on the ice and they caught over 400 fish.

That is cool. Always nice to save a few bucks. I will probably never have the opportunity to go ice fishing though. Water here stays pretty much liquid.

Yeah all the stores that sell poles near me sell them for $20- 30. I made this one for my dad. He liked it but he wanted a pole with one of those plastic reels. I am going to go back by Netcraft this week and pick up one of the reels he wants.


I think it is a pretty good day when you cach 400 fish. Did he say what type they were? The most bluegill me and my dad have ever caught is like 70 or 80. They were all pretty good sized ones.
