Here are afew shots of the flock I started raising in April this year. They still don't have any names because 27 is too may to keep straight. I was lucky to only end up with 10 roosters and I'm keeping 3, giving one away and eating 6 - soon. So after that I may try to figure out who's who and give the girls and 3 roos each a name.

I had a little "phoenix" with a funky comb that I got some help identifying here. I planed to get rid of him but he's adopted my ducklings and keeps the other roosters and hens from picking on them. I guess he has to stay.

One of my phoenix hens. We're still undecided what exactly her breed is:

I believe your phoenix is actually an OEG. My phoenix has a very large straight comb, and my OEG hen has a comb very similar to your little roo. Very nice pics, I just love the lacing on the SLW!

OEG was one of the suggestions made here but someone had a reason it could not be. I really don't know now! LOL

Edited to add: The lacing is just wonderful on the hens. The roos tend to be more white and clumpy and not nearly as pretty. My son (12) doesn't like those roosters at all. He says one of themlooks like Gene Simmons! The fact that I took him to see KISS recently may have something to do with that!

Here's a pic of my OEG hen, Gretta.

You can see she has the same type of comb.

And here's Charlie, my phoenix roo.

It is possible that yours is a mix of the two, since my OEG has yellow legs, and the phoenix has slate. Your little guy has slate legs like my phoenix, but the same comb as my OEG. But he is still very pretty, and I love that he protects the ducklings

He could be a mix for sure. I don't think they had OEGs there but I forget all the breeds they had. Your OEG hen looks much more substantial than mine do but that could be the age. Mine are still young.

She's really not as big as she looks. She is on the bigger side of the standard. But she is LF, if that makes a difference. Is your roo LF or bantam?
