Pics of my four week old BC marans

The pics are of two of my babies, T Rex is the little roo although he is huge and already trying to crow, then my little pullet she has abit more color than I would of liked but maybe some will molt out. I am hopeing T rex turns out nice enough to show.

Your pullet is either lacking a melaniser ,or carrying Wheaten.

She maybe carrying wheaten,were she came from they have BC and wheaten breeding programs.

They are only 4 wks old? They look older than that. What are you feeding those little buggers?

I have some that are 3 months old and yours look the same age as mine....??...

I feed gamebird starter to start, they are big chicks thats for sure. They hatched april 25th.

I have some that are 4 weeks old also and they are not nearly that feathered out. But mine are also free ranging with mama hen and not under a light with starter feed all the time. Not sure if that may be a reason.
My roo chick does not have a comb that big either. Wow! Yours may be as big as Jersey Giants! LOL That would be cool.

I hope they don't get that big, LOL. They are growing and feathering out quickly though. I just wish the small pullet was of proper color, she will have to go into my laying flock. She came out of a total BC flock so I guess she is missing a gene. They do have wheatens but the breeding birds are kept seperate. I might experiment and breed her back to BC to see what happens, I can always use more hens in my laying flock. Anyone have any ideas to what I might get ?
