Our oldest group is now almost six-weeks-old and getting big! i have them sleeping outside (finally) in our adult's old playhouse coop. i've been putting food and water in with them, but they make such a huge mess each night i'm pondering not doing that.

Anyhow, i have no idea what color they will be when grown. Bought eggs on ebay from a woman who has white, lavender, grey, blue, buff, and black saddlebacks. One of the babies is yellowish with some light grey, the others are all dark grey and white. A friend says he thinks i have one white and four saddlebacks. Anyhow, here they are:

Here is a close up of the one lighter colored one, Ariel:

Here is a close up of one of the darker ones:

That's a really dark gray. I got that charcoal gray one time on a normal colored gray crossed with a blue. Just guessing, but those dark grays might be carrying a blue gene.

I was hoping to hatch out some blues or greys. i think the blues are gorgeous. i read that breeding Lavender to grey always produces blue, and i have one adult Lavender gander, then 5 Lavender babies from the same parents, from a local woman who purchased her pair from Holderread. i'm pretty clueless on the coloring genetics. i just wanted to end up with several pairs of pretty geese.
