I was tickled to see my picture I sent in made it to the Pic of the week! I had forgotten all about it. I sent it in a couple months ago... I thought it would be cute to post a picture of what she looks like now and give a little background on her.....
Her mom was my favorite BO hen. Very sadly was killed by a moma fox that lives in the woods behind our house. I was so heartbroken but I had eggs that this hen had freshly laid that week. So I got an incubator and stuck them in with lots of other eggs. This is the only chick that I had hatch from her eggs. I was SOOOOOO happy about that!!!
Her dad is my Crele game mix roo. My favorite roo still to this day. He is the dad around here. He lives in the nursery coop and helps take care of all the chickens/chicks. He is a really sweet natured roo.
My little Elsa is about all grown up now......This is what she looks like today:
I always like seeing what the new POW chicken will look like - I think it would be a cool idea for everyone to give a little background on the POW birds......
