We are building a coop for a friend and she has goats and chickens. Some of her hens are huge Brahmas so I am looking for a solution to keep the goats out of the coop. Specifically how to keep them from getting through the chicken door. I know that many people like me need pictures to get their minds around an idea.

You are going to have troubles. Goats will squeeze through any door that is big enough so a Brahma can get through.

My chickens go through the wooden goat fencing or they go over it, but bigger breeds don't generally do either.

I do have a small hole in my wire fencing that the goats so far don't squeeze through that my chickens use, but it doesn't mean that one day they won't.

Here is a cool idea but it seems like the blog is not active so I wonder if it worked in the long run? http://triptraphomestead.weebly.com...keep-a-pygmy-goat-out-of-the-chicken-coop-101

I also found a very similar idea on here! This is cut from Chirpy's Post.

Their Other Mother asked:
So what's the design to keep the goats out of the door?

Woodlandwoman had the right idea - here's some pictures of what we did that finally stopped my goats from getting into the pop hole door. I did have a ramp on it outside but my smallest goat (she's very small - only 3 months old) was able to use the ramp to still get in with this arrangement - once we took the ramp away so that they and the chickens had to jump up to the pop hole it did the trick.

The reason it works is that the goats backs can't bend down to under the first 2x4 and then immediately back up to get over the 2x6 and through the little 'maze'. We had to add the four 2x4s on the sides as they would just worm in on their knees and go through the sides. (Little twits!

My chickens figured out how to go in the first day, no problems. It took three days for a couple of my girls to figure out how to get out from the inside. I had to help them several times before they learned to jump up and then crouch down. Now they are all doing great with it.

Need a 'tortuous path' with tight turns and small enough goats can't make the turns.
I think what you have above should work unless....
.... good luck if she has Nigerian dwarfs.

Have you searched any goat forum?

Could always surround chicken feeder with 2x4 fencing,
chicken heads will fit thru but might stop goats.
