Pigeon laid 4 eggs!

My kazan hen laid 4 eggs and her and her mate are setting them! I don't know why they laid 4! usually pigeon only lay two!
Has anyone else every had a pigeon do this?

2 hens will pair up sometimes, lay 4 infertile eggs, and incubate them as if nothing were different.

I was happy for you. Maybe it's an odd occurrance though and it really is a pair

I have 2 week old babies that I just adore.

Birds have been found to lay 3 eggs, but rarely. I really doubt one would lay 4. Do you have any other hens around these two?

They must be hens. If one is acting like a male, it is probably the dominant of the two. Also, you could have another bird laying in the nest.

They are the only ones in the cage. I just went to an auction the other day and came home with a pair of kazans!

and when I put the new ones and the ones and the ones I already had you can see that the ones layin th eggs were two females. So now I have 1 male nd three female. thanks for your help everyone!
