pigeon or dove eggs

Best not to incubate pigeon or dove eggs in incubators. Try other eggs as these will need hand fed.

They have to be hand fed from day one, about every 2 hours when starting out. Not to mention the bird will grow slower and not nearly as healthy as those who are raised by their parents with pigeon milk. Just not a good idea.

I was given a baby runt, because it was rejected by it's parents, and the breeder knew i was getting into runts. So she gave me the baby, as long as i was willing to put up with the care. Needless to say, I'm finding out what it's like to be a single parent REAL fast! I will say that the baby is feathering in well, and is very social(loves to cuddle). But unless i have an emergency situation(IE; hand feeding my own clutches)...I could honestly do without the lack of sleep, and general social life. LOL!
