I ordered 3 pilgrim eggs and a set of 6 Toulouse, American buff, pilgrim eggs. So now I’m trying to figure out which ones hatched based on how they look. Out of 8 eggs only 4 hatched. I think only 3 are pictured here though At the time the 4th was in the incubator still. I’ll post another couple better pics in a few minutes. I just wanted to get the thread started.

I don‘t know what pilgrim babies really look like as I don’t have any but all of these look like they’ll be grey, none look like buffs to me unfortunately.

This first baby in the first pic here will likely be grey and white or at least has the genes “spotted feet, purple bill, so it’s possibly a pilgrim.
Here they are I brought them outside for better daylight.

I raise Pilgrims. The problem with trying to visually sex your hatchlings is that Toulouse coloring and female Pilgrim coloring is quite similar in goslings.

Perhaps someone who raises Toulouse and Pilgrims will chime in.

Congratulations on your hatch!

thank you for the congratulations. I know they are similar so that is the hard part. All the babies are mostly grey so they could be anything. 😂

You may have more success when they're older and you can look for the visual cues that a bird may be a Pilgrim (like the characteristic white markings around the eyes/face, double lobes, etc.).

Enjoy those babies!
