Pimple thing on quail butt

Hi, so I have quail, and I noticed that my chick had a pimple thing on its butt. He keeps scratching at it with his beak.

That's the preen gland. They get the oil from the preen gland and use it to clean their feathers.

That's common for bird newbies. I didn't know what it was the first time I saw it either.
