pine needles as coop and run material

yep its that time of the year that my trees are dropping loads of needles. they are about 3" long. so can i use in the coop for bedding? if so or not can i least use in the run?

We use them, as well as leaves and woodchips. I just refilled the nesting boxes with pine needles and sweet fern leaves yesterday.

I use them too . I have tons and tons year round they work great when also mixed w a little pine shavings . Best of all is they are FREE
