Pine Shavings as Mulch?

The pine shavings are escaping the coop. Can I use pine shavings as Mulch or would they just blow away. I'm just getting started with trying deep litter.

i heard that pine shaving will suck up the nitrogen in the soil. which is not ideal for your veggie or citrus

as for blowing away.. when wet.. it's not going anywhere

well. if you have wind during the monsoon season then it's something else.. but pretty much anything can be blown away

i have 6ft concrete wall around the house.. not a problem with wind

If your just getting started, wait till the pine shavings because compost
