Pine shavings from Wal-mart?

Does anyone know if the pine shavings Wal-mart carries are chick-quality? It's a long way out of my way and hate to go over there to find out it's not the right thing. Thanks.

as long as it's not cedar, you'll be fine.

Our walmart only carries cedar shavings. If you have a TSC near you they have pine shavings.

They'll be fine, but there isn't much in their bags compared to the price you pay. In a pinch, they'll do, though.

I got a bag from Walmart and it seemed like they ate more of them, maybe because of the size of the shavings?
And it sure didnt go as far as the shavings I get from the local feed store.

The flakes my wal mart carries are a larger flake than I get from the feed store, and not quite as dusty. I like them better, but not enough to pay their price except when I don't have to go the extra 25 miles to go to the feed store anyway.

Is $4.99 a fair price for 3 cu. ft compressed pine shavings? That's from Southern States.

I pay about $6.50-7.00 depending on where I get them, for a bag that expands to 10 cubic feet. At my Walmart, the pine shavings are over $7/bag and are not nearly as tightly packed.

I've always used Walmarts without a problem. Now we have a new TSC with bigger, cheaper bags.
