I am thinking about raising some turkeys next year but am concerned they will fly into the neighbors yard full of dogs. Has anyone pinioned a turkey before? Just wondering how well they can fly after pinioning.

I've never done it but this is what I found researching the idea. Pinioning needs to be done in the first day or to of life, after that it's a veterinary procedure. It might be appropriate if you were raising a large number of birds. If it's just a few birds trimming the flight feathers is easy enough.
