pip at wrong end - opinion?

will this chick get out of the shell? I wanna go to bed! I can see the beak but it has been at this spot for about 3 hours now. no progress.

Go to bed, I vote. If it can breathe it should be fine. Waiting another few hours probably won't do any harm, and chances are it will be hatched when you come back. If you're the sort to sleep for 12+ hours though then having a coffee or three and helping it hatch may be a better bet.

Someone on the duck forum had this happen, and the other ducklings helped break the shell open for the little guy.

I agree, it depends on how long you'll be sleeping.

this happined to me in my last hatch it didnt move for about 4 hours then i went back up and it was out of the egg sometimes they cant sometimes they can get out so give it time aslong as it can breath
