Im going to be honest I don't know if you can even see it. Its a little hard to take pictures through the tiny window of a Styrofoam incubator.

This egg is a little late. Today is day 24. It finally pipped yesterday if you can see it at the end of the egg. That little X shaped crack that doesn't break all the way through...is that a pip..? An okay one at least? Is that gonna let in enough air I guess is what I'm asking.

Because I'm a little concerned. Not a chirp since then. Not another attempt to actually make a little hole. 24 hours since this and since the little crack only a tiny rocking movement once for a little second.

I guess what can I do, when can I assist..? When should I...? It's other two incubator mates hatched on the night of the 20th day and a few hours later the second one the 21st day. Humidity I was recommended to raise so it floated between 66% and 69% the last day or two. Temp is at 100°.

These are my first eggs to successfully hatch and this one seems to be struggling I just can't say how. 🥲 Looking for proper ways to go about this.

I guess I should add I know it's possible to never hear some chirp until hatch but this egg has never chirped once. Playing chick sounds or hearing the chicks in the brooder across the room if it can hasn't done anything. I want it to live and I'm panicking honestly. It was nerve wracking letting it go to day 24 as it is. 🥲

Im also afraid of shrink wrapping it if I do this. One part of the X shaped crack looks so easy to just nip off as it sticks up a little. As it is I can't see inside the egg at all though.

Update: I'm not sure what to do from here. It was recommended that in a sterile way I open the pip. So I did. Movement, and the first chirps ever from this chick. Then noticing the membrane was very very white I was told to carefully chip the shell away. So I did. Shell is mostly gone and though chick occasionally kicks and kicks it can't get out still.

I honestly can't say I'm confident enough to remove the membrane but I know if I dont it may not get out. Searching older forums on here it seemed my best bet without taking anymore off at the moment was wrapping a damp cloth around the now shell less egg. Which I have. Humidity is 71% and not seeming to help much. Raised the temp from 99.9 to 100.3.

The incubator reads and sets the temp and I also have a separate hygrometer reading temp and humidity inside the incubator. So I'm sure my numbers are correct. I'm just scared and clueless now.
