Hello my fellow chicken buddies!
Can someone give me some advice on Piperazine Dihydrochloride (PID)
It says here there is NO withdrawal period? So does that mean I can eat my eggs instead of throwing them out? Someone told me to throw them out for 30 days....of which I have been doing....

You are correct. There is no withdrawal period for piperazine in Canada.
Here in the U.S. there is a 14 day slaughter withdrawal period and eggs are not to be eaten, period.
I suspect the reason that eggs are not to be eaten is because our piperazine contains a sulfate base and the concentration might be greater in eggs than the meat. Sulfa drugs are used as antibiotics as you know, and there's the concern of resistance. As a matter of fact, I've been noticing piperazine (wazine 17) missing off store shelves.

Another reason used to be that it was too expensive to test eggs for residue. It's a mute point now. I now believe it was due to the sulfate base all along.
