So two days ago all our ducks hatched but one. We thought the egg was a goner because the egg looked "bruised" in one spot. A pretty big spot too. We were on our way to the mulch bucket with her when she moved in our hands. So back in to cook she went. Now 39 hours ago our little girl pipped through that "bruised spot". Since then what's happened is the shell is falling off all around. Wherever it was bruised the shell has fallen off. BUT she's not out! She's been so worn out, and the membrane inside that's still intact has been drying out. So we've been wetting it for her, and giving her drinks through a straw. Giving her drinks started accidently when we were trying to turn her back over after she flipped herself over. It had water in it from sitting in a cup of water. Anyways,,,, Does she look right? She's alive, and peeping!!! It looks like she's fighting to get out sometimes and can't.

oh what to do what to do?

if shes been in there that long she should have absorbed the yolk and you could help her out,
but do this carefully, if you see any bleeding stop and try a little bit later.

TY Luke!

I'm thinking she's stuck also because it looks like she's attempted to come out at some point, and then stopped. The memberane is torn, but like I said the egg looks so awful. I just looked at the pic, and it's a little more discolored than I thought. It was taken through a plastic window, and I had just wetted some of the membrane. But when it dries it's all white, the brown is from what we don't know. But the shell was that color before, and when it gets wet it turns brown.
