Pipped and no progress

Hi all, I've had a silkie chick pip about 8 hours ago with no further progress, I know this can be quite normal, but what is concerning me is the amount of noise it's making, it is quite a bit. Most of the noise doesn't sound too distressed, I'm just not sure what to do. I expect I should just leave it and let bub do its thing, but I wanted to make sure. I'm a touch anxious due to loss of chicks previously at this stage. It's currently the end of day 19, which means bub pipped early, I'm not sure if that changes what I should do. Humidity is at 74% so I'm sure it's not too dry, if anything might be too damp?

Any help appreciated
Thanks 🤞🐣

If the chick has been making noise inside the egg without any progress for some time, it does appear to be in distress and probably needs assistance.

Make an airhole in the shell as decribed by this website. https://backyardpoultry.iamcountryside.com/eggs-meat/candling-eggs-artificial-incubation-hatching/

This website also explains in detail the hatching process and emergency assistance methods. It has worked really well for me. I assisted hatching 3 eggs last year (had to literally peel them open.) They all survived and are healthy birds.

Thanks for the article, that was very helpful. I've read through and it sounds like bub might be just be taking a little while to unzip. There is an external pip in the shell so it has access to air, I think I'll give it a little be longer and then I'll assist if there is still no progress.

I think we are in the clear, bub has started unzipping 🎉🤞
