I have 1 survivor egg in the incubator its day 20 and the chick his piped through the shell. The pip is a small triangle but the shell is still attached sitting against the shell.. question is.... is the chick getting oxygen as the pip is not an open hole? and how long should i wait before i assist or make a pip hole? I have Humidity between 65-70% is this ok?

Humidity sounds good and that's how a pip should be. The shell stays attached to prevent the pip hole drying out.

They can take up to 24 hours to start unzipping. Talk to it as they chirp to connect with their mother and siblings and that spurs them on to hatch.

I know it's the hardest thing to wait and hope that the little one makes it. You can do more harm helping too soon so fingers crossed it'll be able to make it out all by itself.

Let me know how it goes.
