I am currently incubating 2 Mallard eggs because momma would no longer stay on the nest after something (my guess is a raccoon) took 8 of her eggs. I believe we are at about day 26 and I've been candling to make sure they are moving and viable. Yesterday I noticed what appears to be an external pip but it's just below the air sac. I still see her moving and can hear tapping when I listen to the egg. If this is a pip, will she still be able to hatch on her own if she didn't pip through the air sac??
Thanks!!

It should be able to hatch on its own. Give it time.
