Hi everyone!

My eggs are on day 14 right now and had a thought about them. Since they are still incubating and when they pip, can i take them out of the incubator and put them in there brooder box? i will have a heat lamp and wood shavings in there. My only concern is them not hatching because they don't have their 99.5 heat anymore when i take them out. Do they still need heat when they are pipping? Please Help!!!

The eggs need high humidity while they are hatching to keep the membranes soft so that they can move around the egg to hatch. If the membranes dry out they get stuck in the egg. They can stay in the bator till they are 24- 36 hours old. They live off the yolk they absorbed till then. HUmidity should be at 60-70% during hatch time. You should not open the bator once the eggs stat pipping the first hole in the shell. Each time you open it you lose the humidity in the bator and the eggs dry out.
