Hi All! I was in the feed store this morning and they got an unforeseen batch of late chicks and ducklings. Needless to say I came home with 2 ‍♀️. I have a very broody hen who has eggs just about to hatch that I planned to slip the 2 new babes under late tonight. Has anyone here done this? Tips and tricks? Do I need to move her out into a large kennel or different area with her new babies?

I have never done so, but read many times, of peeps slipping chicks under broody. It is usually done in the dark and just slipped under. Most peeps slip day old chicks from their incubator to have broody hen raise them. You do have to keep an eye on the process to make sure hen accepts the new additions.
Hopefully hen will still maintain on nest and hatch out her eggs.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and :welcome

Mama and babies are very happy!! She took to them right away and they love to cuddle her. 2 of the eggs she was sitting on hatched the next day so she is content with 4 babies at the moment!
