I am "getting ready" and like to plan ahead, carefully and thoroughly when possible. So, dear chicken people, my first question has to do with a coop. I want perhaps too much (not unusual) but I want a large, movable coop (have a tractor that will pull just about anything) and plan to house 12-15 layers, probably Arcaunas or Americuanas. One rooster OK too.
Like the idea of passive solar as we have lots and lots of sunshine although at 6000' altitude so a good winter season too. I did see the green passive solar coop on a page here.
I am also lazy and rather than look through all the pictures and plans, if someone could direct me to a couple of sources where there are examples of such a coop, I would be both glad and grateful. We have lots of resources for materials and some skill as well with building. I was even thinking of a miniature post and beam construction with left over material from building a rather large barn (36x50). Ideas, suggestions and help most welcome. Thanks in advance!
