Hi y’all I noticed in the past there were a couple posts on whether chickens were allowed in Plantation Florida. Was wondering if anyone got an answer? I thought I read we could have five hens but now I cant find it anywhere 😩Also when trying to rehome a rooster does anyone know Where to look ? Thanks:)
 
I was planning to visite and retire in Florida. Unfornately, the Covid19 stop my plan. My spouse doesn't want to deal with the hurrican every year. Anyway, here is the information relate to Florida that I have collected for awhile. Hope this will help.

Broward County – No number limits (depending on plot size), roosters allowed.
Fernandina Beach – permit required, and not easy to acquire one.
Gainesville – 20 per acre, roosters allowed.
Hialeah – No number limits.
Jacksonville - No number limits, roosters allowed.
Jupiter - No number limits, roosters allowed, permit required.
Key West – No number limits, roosters allowed. Chickens are allowed to free range. Permit required.
Lady Lake - No number limits.
Lakeland – No number limits.
Lutz – Maximum 4.
Melbourne – No number limits,permit required.
Ocala – No number limits.
Orange County – Maximum 30.
Orange Park - No number limits, roosters allowed, permit required.
Orlando – Maximum 30.
Oviedo – No number limits, roosters allowed, permit required. Chickens are allowed to free range.
Palm Coast - No number limits, roosters allowed.
Panama City – No number limits, but a fee per chicken. Permit required.
Pembroke Park – No number limits; no birds in mobile home parks.
Pensacola – No number limits.
Pinellas Park – No number limits, permit required.
Sarasota – Maximum four.
St Augustie – No number limits.
St Petersburg – No number limits.
Tallahassee – No number limits.
Tampa – 1 per 1000 sq ft.
Titusville – No number limits, permit required.

The one county missing is Brevard. (pronounced: Bri-vard).
I guess you didn't want to move here to the Space Coast on the Atlantic Ocean. Merritt Island or Cape Canaveral. You did mention Melbourne but, No Thank you for that area or that surrounding area.
Yes, we do get hurricanes but, we have Not had a direct hit. The Kennedy Space Center & NASA are up the road from me. The way the coast line is, the storms are directed upward.
YaY for us.
Plan on moving to Merritt Island.
Its close to the beach & listed as a barrier island, close to Orlando and lots of things to do.
