Plants for fly reduction?

Does anybody have any suggestions on non toxic plants I can put in that will help reduce the flying pests in my yard. Flies and wood bees are especially problematic. Thanks.

I have read that mint and basil are good fly repellants. I don't know if it works but would smell nice.

If you plant mint make sure you do it in some sort of container as it has a tendency to really take over.
