We are adding on the the excisting chicken pen, we have ducks and chickens both. We are putting in a pond for the ducks, what are some plants that are safe to plant around the pond area that are safe and will survive the critters? i have some extra iris plants that need transplanted, would those be safe? Other plant ideas welcome as well

My chickens have eaten everything green in our yard. Everything. I think about the only thing that would survive would be evergreens, and even then you'd have to be sure it's not something poisonous like yew.

In fact, they've eaten so much that today I mowed the lawn and dumped the bag out in their yard, for a treat.

no small plants will survive in a static chicken run. You need established or fenced bushes/trees or to keep them rotating.
