plants to grow in the chicken run

plants to grow in the chicken run so they have fresh fruit and other vegetation to eat
has anyone done this and if so let's make a list of plants that are a good for this project

Welcome! How big is your run? How many chickens? Anything edible that lasts more than a few days would be good. Fruiting small trees or shrubs, that will be short enough to be under your netting (if you have it), maybe vines on the fencing, Generally, non-toxic native plants work well too. Mary

I do this.... I thought I was the only one who grows a garden for the chickens!
I have several old car tires in the run and planted lettuce, zuc and beet greens. Then I have a ares next to the run that has many more vegetables in it for them. Some times they reach through the chain link fence to reach their garden vegetables...

How do you manage to grow anything in the run with chickens eating it before it has a chance to grow?

I put wire fencing around it and over the top. I just was thinking I left that out...
