Yup, have to cover all perches, roosts and platforms with 6ml plastic. Stapled on. Easy to clean/scrape.

Seen some nice wooden coops and it's a shame they'll end up soiled and dinge .

Where do you live?
I do have HDPE floors in some coops but I've never heard of anyone covering everything with plastic.

Have been using plastic for years. Easy to clean.
Using a flexible putty knife to scrape up turds and place in galvanized garbage can.
It gets emptied into garden once a week.

Doesn't it stay cold and possibly wick heat as opposed to wood in winter?

Not at all.

Plastic acts like an insulating barrier and retains heat.
