plastice playhouse

My two sons have outgrown a plastic playhouse. Any thoughts on converting it to a hen house? I can plexiglass the windows for weather and safety but has anyone ever tried this? It is big enough to stand up in. I don't have any building skills and I am having a difficult time justifying buying a chicken coop for over $1000.

It can work, but you have to reinforce for predator control and be careful of excessive heat in the summer. It will require a lot of ventilation.

I have an oversized dog house--you can get kits for $100 or a used one around at tag sales and convert it....

I'm looking for a playhouse right now to convert. Sounds like a grand idea to me.
