This coop is nearly finished. It’s been in the works intermittently since July, but we put up a new studio that took up the entire summer. All of the exterior studio stuff is done, so the past few days I’ve been working on completing the coop. I ordered an automatic door that I roughed in, but it won’t be here until Sunday. I also need to get some corrugated plastic to redirect a draft that I can feel near the roost as well as the top of the door. I’ll attach a before photo as well as after.

The coop is 6x6 with a ceiling peak at about 7 feet. There is short back door that I’ll open when I need to clean out the coop. The windows are currently closed, but will be covered with hardware cloth when I pick up some hinges.

The run will be 10x10 and covered, hopefully before it snows. We have plans to add another 10x30 section, but that probably won’t happen until spring at the race I’m going.

I thought I’d add a pic of the studio alongside the coop. We’ve completed the drywall inside, but still have finish work to do. The propane should be installed in the next couple of weeks...pretty chilly in there in the morning, but it warms up pretty well when the sun’s out.
