Good Morning,
Some background, my Buff had been acting strange. She started out one day, outside and just stayed in one postion all day, kind of puffed up. She was eating tho. She wouldnt come in, and I had to crawl in the run and put her in the coop myself. She wouldnt roost and she stayed on the floor. Then, a few days later she seemed to be doing better. Got on the roost, but she still seemed lethargic. Didnt go out with the others. I came home yesterday and found her sprawled out on the floor and her comb looked purplish. I brought her inside and put her in a cat carrier with some shavings and got her warmed up. She doesnt feel egg bound and her vent looks good. I also offered food and water, neither of which she would take. I forced her to drink with an eye dropper. She wouldnt even eat her favorite yougurt. My husband is NOT happy about her being in the house and thinks whatever she has could make our dog or cat sick. Any ideas or suggestions? I think she is about 1.75 years old. I hate to see her suffer. Would you cull her?
